Loving People, Not Just Crowds: A Key to Ministry Success

One of the greatest pitfalls in ministry today is a love for crowds without a corresponding love for people. Many ministers find fulfillment in the applause and energy of a large audience but struggle to connect with individuals who are flawed, broken, and in need of care.

True ministry is not about the size of the crowd but the depth of the relationships. Jesus exemplified this in His earthly ministry. While He preached to multitudes, He consistently made time for individuals—whether it was a tax collector like Zacchaeus, a woman at the well, or children in need of a blessing.

Loving flawed, broken, and hurting people is not easy, but it is essential. Ministry requires seeing past imperfections and embracing the messy realities of human life. It calls for compassion, patience, and a willingness to walk alongside others through their struggles.

Success in ministry is not measured by numbers but by the lives transformed through genuine love and care. Restoring this “lost art” of loving people is vital for ministers who want to make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God.
